Selecting an individual hatched area (not every other hatch on the drawing)

Hi all,

I'm having some difficulty with hatches in Autocad 2010 and would appreciate some help please.

Basically for example (to make this easy to understand) I've got 4 squares with hatches inside and im trying to select one single hatched area in one of the squares (and delete it). But upon selecting it it's selecting the hatches in the other 3 squares (as they were added at the same time). I've carried out a few searches in google etc and experimented with "pickstyle" but with no avail, also I've looked at groups but there are none in the drawing(so I can't ungroup).

I can do it (which I've just realised) by deselecting the boundaries in "edit hatch" but just wondered if there was a quicker way?

Thanks in advance

ReMark is, as usual, right on the mark. Why doesn't that surprise me more?

Hey is that what Re Mark means?

Nothing to fear but fear itself.

The timidity, nay fear, with which some newbies approach the program makes me nuts, and sad, it just gets in the way. Take a few chances, learn a few things, UNDO whatever needs be undone.

Practice makes perfect, or something approximating that.

Not that Wev seems to display any timidity about looking around, and obviously has given it some thought. Which I commend.

I am absolutely obsessive about exploring any and all options (except FLATSHOT. it would seem).

Every time I see an option it makes me think that, in order for it to have been included in the program, there must have been at least a few bright bulbs who thought that it had some merit. I like to dignify that mindset by checking out those options. Might not use them, but I like to ponder the possibility, and make an informed decision.

Of course none of this explains the DASHBOARD, which was promoted for about 2 days in 2009, those must have been the days I was in class.

The powers that be dropped that like a hot potato. Just as well.

Haha, bloody hell how did I miss that? Thanks! :)

This has been doing my head in every time I've created a drawing over the last month and I've gotten sick of creating individual hatches every time :)
