Can't access Options Menu anymore...

My Autocad 2011 gets stuck trying to open Options in whatever way I try to access them. I end up having to close it down. Never had the problem before today so not sure what has changed...

Try shutting down your computer, wait 20 seconds, turn it back on and open AutoCAD. Does OPTIONS still refuse to work?

This is a cold boot so power the system off completely.

Note: You're being assisted by a New York Giants fan.

No, that didn't do it. It can't seem to find it...Maybe something got moved accidentally? I haven't accessed Options for a long time.

Giants deserved to win that game. There actually were alot of Giants fans at the game. Not sure who the team was they were playing. Not the team I watched all year.... :(

Type the word OPTIONS at the command line then press ENTER.

What does AutoCAD say in response?

Yes, I was expecting a game much like the last one where it would go right down to the last few plays of the game.

I had tried that and it does the same thing as commanding other ways. I was thinking about Restoring to a past date to see if that fixes it. I didn't see a patch or update that I needed on Autodesk website.

So it says "Unknown command" or it doesn't return a message at all?

Is your version of AutoCAD current with all updates?

I would suggest a REPAIR rather than resorting to a RESTORE point.

It doesn't say anything it's trying to open the Options but eventually I just shut it down as I know it isn't going to work. I left it trying for about 10 minutes earlier today and still had to shut it down. Yes I am current with 2 updates. That was all I saw when I checked. I will look into the Repair option, thanks....

Re: REPAIR. Go through Windows Add/Remove Programs. When your list of programs is populated find AutoCAD 11.

Select the program, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the option to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it.
