Default Parts of an image missing

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    Hello everyone
I can't understand why I can't see some aspects of my drawing when I look in print preview or plot full preview.

All of the drawing is visible in model space and layout, no problems there. View, Zoom All displays all of my drawing, but it's just in the Plot, Full Preview that small parts of my drawing like text, leader lines, basic stuff just disappear. Even the print out is missing the same as the full preview.

    Why?
I have several layers. All layers are on and unlocked, not that it makes a difference.

Can someone help me out with this?

    Thanks

Sounds like some layers are set to not plot.

You say all layers are on and unlocked, but are any of them set to No-Plot?

    Missed it by mere seconds.

    Ah! the DEFPOINT layer!
Some people use it to place notes or even the viewports or other geometry that should not plot.
I don't use that layer at all. It is created and used by AutoCAD itself so I create my own layers as I need them.

A quick fix for your problem: use the quickselect to select all the objects on the defpoint layer and pick an other layer from the list. Or if you have the EXPRESS tools you can isolate the DEFPOINTS layer and select the objects. But I think you already solved the problem

    Hello again.
Fuccaro, I selected all objects and just moved them to another layer. If needed I can move them back, avoiding the Defpoint layer.

If I had a substantial amount of items drawn and on many layers, how can I easily identify those not plotted?. Do I change the color of the layer to something outstanding and then look for those items of the same color?
Then move them to a functional layer?

    Thanks

Go to the LAYER MANAGER. Check the layer list; at the end of each layer is a printer icon. If that icon has a red line across that layer will not plot. Use the LAYISO (Express tool) or the quick select to find all the objects placed on those layers.
Note that the DEFPOINTS layer is not marked with a red line but it still doesn't plot.
