Greendamo
Hi all Can someone please tell me how to get a 3D soid in to Keyshot 3 that is smooth! Ie no obvious facet edges. I have tried everything to my knowledge, FACETRES = 10 etc but every time i open up the model in keyshot it is faceted! Any help guys will be much appreciated. Bobzy20
I have the same problem when I import cylinder objects into KeyShot from AutoCAD, I always get the FACETRES lines which make it look rubbish.
Bobzy20
Try asking here: http://keyshot.com/forum/
lamensterms
You may be able to achieve pretty good results by exporting from AutoCAD to another format. Maybe try export to .SAT.
Titi95
I often work with Autocad / Keyshot and I always transfer format. IGES for good form.
lamensterms
Thanks for the tip Titi95 - what type/size models do you work with? I am a structural steel detailer in the market for a new rendering program.
Titi95
As you scored a new post. Keyshot is for small room or small project. For large projects I utlise Lumion
lamensterms
Just follwing up on this old thread. The best method I have found (to get accurate curves) is to import your .DWG into Navisworks with a high faceting factor (Navisworks setting), then export from Navisworks to .FBX. Then import .FBX into Keyshot. I've had a few issues with material mapping, but sometimes accurate curves are more important than accurate materials.
