Hi all

Can someone please tell me how to get a 3D soid in to Keyshot 3 that is smooth! Ie no obvious facet edges.

I have tried everything to my knowledge, FACETRES = 10 etc but every time i open up the model in keyshot it is faceted!

Any help guys will be much appreciated.

Damian

I have the same problem when I import cylinder objects into KeyShot from AutoCAD, I always get the FACETRES lines which make it look rubbish.

You may be able to achieve pretty good results by exporting from AutoCAD to another format. Maybe try export to .SAT.

Thanks for the tip Titi95 - what type/size models do you work with? I am a structural steel detailer in the market for a new rendering program.

Just follwing up on this old thread. The best method I have found (to get accurate curves) is to import your .DWG into Navisworks with a high faceting factor (Navisworks setting), then export from Navisworks to .FBX. Then import .FBX into Keyshot. I've had a few issues with material mapping, but sometimes accurate curves are more important than accurate materials.
