jmerch
Check your Anti-Virus program. We had this issue and found out the AVP was doing live scans in Autodesk/AutoCAD folders which causes these crashes. We fixed it by removing these folders from the live scan paths so it's not scanning all of these files every couple minutes.
ReMark
Whiteline: How much RAM is installed? Are you working in 2D, 3D or a combination of both? What is the average size of a typical drawing file? When did the problem first occur? What were you doing when the crash occurred? Is the problem repeatable at the same point each and every time? What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem? Is your version of 2010 current with all updates? Is XP current with all updates?
SLW210
I moved this to AutoCAD Bugs, Error Messages & Quirks forum to its own thread: AutoCAD is running out of system memory. In addition to ReMark's list What graphics card and driver? 32-bit or 64-bit OS? 32-bit or 64-bit AutoCAD? How much vitual memory do you have? nestly
It tends to happen to me in WinXP when I work with medium to large 3D models and have or had other 3rd party non-Windows Certified applications running that doesn't properly release unused memory when it's done with it.
