leahtachwedd
I'm experiencing AutoCAD 2011 locking up / freezing up at program startup. Everything loads fine in the background of the Welcome Screen . However, it won't let me past this point. Either i need a way to remove the "Welcome Screen" upon startup. Or a solution to having 2011 startup. Cant do any work!!! Would be most gratefull if you could provide a solution. Im not verytechnical! Tiger
Hi and welcome to the forum. I have removed your duplicate thread, please only post your question once. Is this a new problem? have AutoCAD worked well earlier? Have you tried a Repair (found via Add/Remove programs) on the installation? ReMark
Is this a company computer or your own personal computer? What version of Win7 do you have? Could be: Home Premium, Pro, Ultimate, etc. You're unsure if you have an anti-virus program? Do any of these names ring a bell: McAfee, TrendMicro, Norton, MS Essentials, or AVG? I would hope that you do have such a program and that it is running while you are roaming the Internet otherwise you leave yourself wide open for viruses, malware and other forms of nasty things. ReMark
Look for this toolbar in the upper right hand corner of your screen and click on the button for the Communications Center. In the drop-down box near the bottom it should tell you if there is an update available. If there is click on that entry and you should be taken to the AutoDesk website where you can download the update. Be sure to download the one for a 64-bit system and not a 32-bit system. Before trying to install the update I would recommend creating a Windows RESTORE point. You do know how to do this right?
