I would immediately eliminate any computer that has less than 4GB of RAM.

    Here is another option...
    Dell XPS 15 - $799.99
Intel core i5 2nd gen, 2.5 GHz up to 3.1 GHz
    Win7 Home Prem
    6GB DDR3
    750GB HDD
    nVidia GF GT525 1GB VRAM
    15.6 LCD w/ 2.0MP Webcam
    8x CD/DVD burner

I agree with Remark. Forget anything that is not a 2nd gen Core i5, 1gb of video ram and nothing under 4gb of ram. Good luck

Well if you are going to be rendering with Max get the i7 model as it will be faster than the i5. Well that is if you are using a cpu based rendering engine and not a gpu based one. I see FreeDos as the OS, does Windows 7 not come with these?

If given only those two choices I would pick the i5 due to the screen resolution and GPU offered on that one. I think you will find the 1366x768 too limited in on screen space among other concerns..

Umm no, FreeDOS is not Win 7. Do not assume that.
