Loft (ing) shapes with 3ds max 9

I'm an absolute beginner with 3ds and howtos could be so many...but actually worst issue for me is in using loft. I mean:
1. drawing a spline that will be the path
2. drawing a shape that will shape the loft
3. getting the shape & path and ...

path is clockwise direction BUT loft turns counterclockwise. Why?

I've attached a sample file (hopefully clear..)

Try this:
1. Click on the Path to select it
2. Click Loft
3. Click Get Shape
4. Select the shape.

Actually I'm using ACad 2007 together with 3DS Max 9. I mean...learning while using..so I'll be here soon. Thanx again!!
