Change Block To Solid And Extrude

I have bee awat from AutoCad for a while. Using 2002.

I inserted an an Angle block from PE Symbols into my Drawing, but it is only 2 dimensional.

I have forgotten how to change the block to a solid, and then to extrude it to a given length.

Any help would be appreciated.

closed polyline (PE Join, you might have to explode first - depending on what you really have).
Extrude
