fisher22 Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Hi, this is probably really simple but i've just started using CAD so my apologies. I have to design a building as part of a uni project, i've drawn a floor plan with polylines but when i go to replace the polylines with walls, some of the walls have the plaster work on the outside and brickwork inside. danellis Posted May 27, 2012 Share Posted May 27, 2012 If you select one of the walls you'll see six, or possibly seven, glyphs appear. (For the purposes of this description I'm going to assume that the wall runs horizontally along the screen in plan view) The left-most glyph is just to the left of the wall and is an arrow pointing left. It can be used to drag the end of the wall to the left or right, lengthening or shortening the wall. The next glyph is a square that represents the end point of the wall. Moving it moves the end of the wall - changing length and orientation together. Next is the midpoint glyph, another square it can be used to move the wall "up" or "down" the screen (changing the wall's position in the "y" axis." Below this will be an arrow pointing left or right. This controls the orientation of the wall and is the one you want to use. Clicking it will "rotate" the wall, having the effect of swapping which side of the wall is "inside" and which is "outside." It should give the result you want, Fisher. The fifth and sixth glyphs repeat the first two, controlling the length and endpoint of the wall on the right hand side. I mentioned at the start that there could be a seventh glyph. This also appears in the middle of the wall and is an arrow perpendicular to the wall. It controls the wisth of the wall. It only seems to appear on certain wall-types/styles.
