Offset problem in Autocad 2009

Hello!

A have a problem. I use offset in a square in Autocad 2008 and it works perfect(i can see it normaly). Im trying to do the same in Autocad 2009 and it seems that its making the ofset to the same sized square but i CANNOT SEE THE CHANGE THAT IS BEEING MADE BY OFFSET (to the square)! Do i need to change something in the view or in display or something else?

What is the offset distance?
Is the layer of the polyline (square) locked?
Is the current layer frozen?

Or maybe the current layer is off

In beggining what ever distance a puted 0.5 or 1 or 2 it didnt appear nothing. After a few times doing the same thing suddenly i could see the offset square and inside and outside. Really dont know. i didnt done nothing with the layers of polyline square.
