    Hello all!

When I open my 3D AutoCad .dwg file in Inventor Professional, Most of the tools are not active anymore/ "3D Model" tab does disappear and practically I am not able to edit my 3D object!

Please someone help me out! Thanks.

I have never seen this behavior before.
Can you post a screen shot?
How are you opening the file in Inventor?
What Options have you selected (show screen shot of this too).

    Dr. Mather,

Many thanks for your reply. Please take a look at the attachment. Honestly, I can't edit my autocad files like this! Most of tools are not active anymore!

    Thanks again.

You neglected the second part of my question - what Options are you using?
You have left the Options on Default of opening your 3D in 2D drawing.
You should immediatly recognize that as being the drawing environment rather than an ipt modeling environment.

Click on the file to open and before opening click Options
select Import and go through the wizard to import the 3D into 3D.

You can set this to be the default in your Application Options.
