CAD Bandit
Hi Just learning 2D CAD and trying to draw a cross section of a timber winder stairs as the strings change angle (I think) at the winder section. Looking at 3nr winding steps. Setting out a standard stairs is okay, so I have the floor to floor height. Are there any tutorials or threads on here you could point me too. Any help would be most appreicated.
ReMark
Aren't those the type where there is a landing then a change in direction? Kind of like this.....http://www.stairplan.com/winderplan.htm
CAD Bandit
Hi Yep, I am just on that site now. Got all the dims, I just want to draw out the strings from the shorter elevation. The Jeld wen CAD files shows the winder string in sections too.
ReMark
Then you should be good to go. Our local building department no longer allows winder type staircases in new construction unless they are of the "L" type. True winder staircases are unsafe as it is too easy to miss a step and take a serious fall. Emergency personnel hate them especially EMTs when they have to take someone out on a stretcher. CAD Bandit
Hi In the UK, there are standard stairs turning right after the three winders, so yep its a L shaped.
