tennis4you
Is there a setting that you can change in AutoCAD that will allow you to change all colors in a x-ref file, even if the "By Layer" color has been changed in the x-ref? Thanks!
nestly
I don't believe you can change the display of something with a property override except perhaps by using a plot style (STB?), which you can then apply to a Layout in the Page Setup Manager. Blackfish
Do you want to change all colors in a source file (the original file you xrefed to your drawing) or just change colors of all layers of the xref in your drawing? These two ways are completely different things...
RobDraw
Is there a setting that you can change in AutoCAD that will allow you to change all colors in a x-ref file, even if the "By Layer" color has been changed in the x-ref? Thanks! Everything in the XREF file has to be set to By Layer. You can do this with the SETBYLAYER command.
nestly
I just verified that plot styles can definitely over-ride property over-rides (native and xref'd objects)
troggarf
VVA has done quite a few variants found at the link below. The.lsp that I am pointing you has 4 different options on how to handle changing colors in drawings with XREFs so please read the options. If this routine doesn't help then browse the rest of that thread because VVA and LEE made about a ton of variants at peoples request... http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?533-Lisp-colour-change-for-all-layers-and-blocks&p=221559#post221559
