ok , i blew it now i'm stuck , taking a 2d dxf drawing into 3d sw
how do i extrude the pipes threw a specific 3d curve .
iv'e attached both the sw file and the orig dxf , i'm working from for my model
but i'm sure i'm taking this from the wrong angle ( yes problem from coming from 2d )
any hints or help appriciated , i'm looking at making a casting from this for my locomotive
i'm sure iv'e made a right mess of it too , so still learning

I can't open your file here at work since its a future version, but looking at the DWGs this shouldnt be too hard. In solidworks you can bring in the side, top, front drawings on to different planes. Under the "curves" menu on your Features tab you can make a "project curve" which allows you to grab curves in 2 different planes and make a 3d curve from that.

from there you can use your curve to create a plane normal to the end point and then sweep-cut. In your case it might be best to just sweep the "runners" and shell them.
