Scaling an assembly in one direction

I have recieved a .step file which is not scaled properly but only in one direction. I tried saving it as an assembly and then deriving a new component and scaling the component but the issue with this is that it scales the part in all directions when all I need is to scale it in the x direction.

Any ideas??

I think there is a non-uniform scale tool in the SDK but I can't help but wonder if there is a better and easier way.
Can you attach the orginal step file and explain how it is not correct.
