Rienei Posted June 7, 2012 Share Posted June 7, 2012 I have a really curvy sculpture. How do I draw the dimensions of the elevation for it? I have attached a picture of my drawing. I was told to do gidelines and show the dimension of them. However I find it not very accurate for the contractors to read. Any advice would be appreciated. JD Mather Posted June 7, 2012 Share Posted June 7, 2012 For artistic stuff you need to make a model or scaled model. You might search for information on how past projects like this have been done. I think there is lots of information on Mt Rushmore. For smaller manufactured artistic designs a model is made for casting or tracer reproduction. In other cases the manufacturing CNC code is generated directly from the CAD model. The only dimensions given are overall envelope size and maybe a few critical locations and mounting holes.
