    Thanks for your reply. It has worked for those files that originally were created in solidworks.
    How about a 3D model created in CAD (see attachment). When I open it in Solidworks, I just have an "Imported" option that is not editable!

    Run Feature Recognition to build a sketch/feature tree. Right click on Imported in the browser.
    You will have to add the dimensions to the sketches. Then they can be edited as needed.
