Block question

Recommended Posts

I have a series of logos that we use. I would like to have them setup in a dynamic type block that would allow us to select the block and choose from a pull down that logo to use.

I have see it done before just don't know how to replicate it.

As you scrolled through the choices as each one was highlighted it would display that one on the screen.

Any help would be great thanks!

I think the best solution is to create a dedicated pallete and add those blocks in it by drag-and-drop.
I will back that up too. Best method in my opinion.

The feature you are looking for is called Visibility State. It is similar to having visible/invisible layers within blocks... in your case, you would have all your logos inside one block, and assign a different visibility state to each. One disadvantage to Dynamic Blocks is unless you explode them, if you deliver dwg files to the client, you're giving them all the content/logos contained with the blocks, not just the content that's used in the drawing.

I'd be more than happy to assist you with Visibiltiy states, but especially for a logo, I agree with the two posts above.

Very valid points! I have a few other objects I would like to do this with as well that it would not matter if the client received the blocks. If you wouldn't mind I would love some help setting up the visibility state! I was looking at it but was unsure exactly how it functioned.

I found a video on youtube that should help. It video covers a lot of material but Visibility states are covered from 2 to 4 minute into the video, then demonstrated in the drawing around 9 minutes. If you have any more specific questions, just ask.
