"Re-aligning" the View Cube in Assembly

Hi,

A beginner's question:

When I created an Assembly , the Assembly was not aligned 'orthogonally'. That is, when the View Cube showed a "front view", the assembly was not orthogonal to the viewer, but rather angled. I assume this is because I did not set up axial constraints for the parts properly. So-in Assembly mode, can I re-align the view cube so that the view is truly orthogonal with respect to the viewer? (And is there a way to do this other than eye-balling?)

Don't fix the symptom, solve the actual problem.

Fix the constraints, and everything else will more than likely fall into place ... and you won't need to eyeball anything.

Add Mate-Flush constraints between the logical base part and the origin XY, YZ, XZ workplanes. (you might need to unground a part to do this)

I agree.

The logical base part should be set to the correct coordinates (providing it was created correctly).

Therefore, by constraining the remaining parts to the base part, this should fix your "orthographic alignment" issue.
