Default how to curve a solid

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I'm trying to design a curve chair back, I can only make it in a flat shape, please see pic: http://thanh.my-php.net/forum/viewto...67793dca4e6b9a .
The left solid is my chair back, is it possible to make it curve like the right solid?

    Thanks in advance

I don't think to be possible to curve an existing solid entity. Please check if the solution from this previous thread is useful for you.

Thanks so much, I don't know why I cannot see my post, let me show my project again:

Please show me how to make the chair back (the left solid) curve like the right solid.
This is the chair I'm trying to draw the chair back:

Curve an existing solid? I suppose it depends on what you mean exactly. Bend it?

ReMark, I think that OP's message was retained for moderation due to a link - he/she was looking to create a part for a curved chair.

    Hi Msasu

Yes, I want to create a part of a chair back, 'cause working for a furniture factory, but I think that autocad cannot bend a solid with an arc, I just want to ask you if there is another way to do so, as this's beyond my reach. I don't want to use pro engineer, solidworks....

By the way, could s.o tell me why I cannot see my post

    Regards.

Maybe it's possible in Inventor but in AutoCAD I would say it is impossible to bend the one on the left. However, I think you might be able to approximate it. Can you post and actual DWG file?

If you read again the above posts, will find the answers to both questions, but I will resume them for you.

I believe that is being held temporary for moderation due to the link you inserted - please check the Forum rules. Just be patient, please.

Check the method I suggested in this thread; use the items from your picture, just extrude more the shape on the left and intersect it with the shape from the right side.

There isn't a bend command in AutoCAD, but I don't see why the part couldn't be made in AutoCAD from a Thickened trimmed surface.
