Do you have full admin rights?

Did you turn off the UAC during installation?

Did you disable your anti-virus program during installation?

I am logged as Admin with full rights, UAC turned off and antivirus disabled (Norton IS), and still same problem. I got this message:

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2738."

I dont think that is something wrong with installation package.... i tried to intall software on other computer and it works fine...

When I have had similar problems before I push the panic button I try loading the program "flat". What I mean by this is I create a folder on my hard drive (let's call it Map3DInstall) and copy all files and folders off the installation media and into this folder. I find and run the .EXE file that begins the installation process and if prompted for the location of the files I point to this folder. I've used the method twice, most recently with a stubborn 2013 install on my work computer and each time I was successful. You might want to consider this option only after visiting the AutoDesk website and searching on "code 2738" or just "2738" and read what others have experienced and the suggestions made.

Mostly do drafting related to manufacturing. From doing site layouts with proposed updates, additions and renovations to be budgeted and submitted for bid, to updating and changing existing drawings to reflect maintenance and repair/revision work done on site.

Autodesk will be of little help with this, it is a MS Windows issue.

    See if THIS helps.
