SacredFire
I'm using Autocad 2012 and the explode command doesnt seem to work on anything - texts, polylines, hatches, rectangulars, etc. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance
ReMark
So you are not getting an "unknown command" response from AutoCAD? The regular Explode command does not work on text objects. You have to use the Text Explode command in Express Tools. Is this what you are seeing at the command line after trying to use the Explode command? Command: _explode Select objects: 1 found 1 was not able to be exploded. It is generally considered not a good idea to explode hatching since the result will be numerous line segments. It is not broken, it is doing exactly what it is meant to do, as you have selected an entity which is not a suitable candidate for the EXPLODE command. SLW210
Could they be blocks with exploding not allowed? Maybe you could post the troublesome creatures?
SacredFire
They are not blocks. I draw a polyline using the "Polyline" command and then i try to explode it and i get " 1was not able to explode" :\

Dadgad
I think I know what is going on here. If you look at the image you will see from my commandline history that I have created and exploded a POLYLINE no problems so far the polyline has been converted to a line when I select the LINE and try to explode it you can't do that, I'm a line!!! I am guessing that your commandline display might be collapsed to a single line? Try stretching the commandline up (or use F2) to reveal your recent commandline history, I am guessing that your polyline was exploded and became a line, without your being aware of it, you tried it again, and got an cannot explode message? Maybe not, but check your commandline history to be sure. Or could it be that you think you are drawing a POLYLINE, but are in fact creating a LINE. Are you using the LINE command on your DRAW toolbar or RIBBON perhaps? If so, either of those techniques would create a LINE, not a POLYLINE. SLW210
Try using _.EXPLODE on the command line. If that works then your EXPLODE command has been redefined.
