Transforming a canoe 2D design to 3D

I have a 2D canoe design which is composed of an elliptical base and two sides. I've drawn the base and side exactly as per the design in Autocad. I've then extruded them to the 5mm as reguired by the design. I'd like to understand how to 'bend' the side panel so as to attach it in 3D to the base but I haven't a clue as to how to go about it.

Can anyone help me?

AutoCAD doesn't roll or bend material. However, Autodesk Inventor can do that.

If you want to keep using AutoCAD, I'd suggest you look up the LOFT command to create a surface model of your canoe, then follow up with the THICKEN command to give your surface a thickness.

You will want to create a series of polygons essentially which will define a few different cross sections in TOP view at different elevations.
Then you can choose an ISOMETRIC perspective, start the LOFT command and specify the order in which they will be spanned and united by a new SURFACE.
Once you have done that you will, as Denimoth stated, want to give those SURFACES thickness, converting them into solids with the THICKEN command.

Check out the tutorials by JD Mather, a well known and respected member of these forums. Of particular interest to you will be his tutorial on creating a lofted bottle. Similar methods can be used to create your canoe.
