Normally I recommend trying a REPAIR of AutoCAD prior to an uninstall/reinstall.

Did you follow the recommended procedure for uninstalling/reinstalling AutoCAD as per AutoDesk's own published guidelines as found on the AutoDesk website?

Our IT guy does all the computer stuff and not sure what hes doing or not doing....

Just did one a file that is 15754 KB. 723 Blocks audited and 73 errors found and fixed. Not sure what was wrong but is that the acutal amount of block in the files?

Out of memory errors occur when the swap file (virtual memory) is at its limit. Do you let Windows manage virtual memory or have you set your own limits on it?

BTW...I would recommend disabling the InfoCenter.

Not sure how to check. i ahve not setup anything with the computer but its look and screen saver.

Audit fixes errors. I'm not sure if that process makes any significant difference in the file size.

If you do not follow AutoDesk's recommended procedure there is a chance you'll miss a handful of items that must be deleted manually. Leaving those items behind may have an impact on the reinstall process.

Your "window-dressing" changes have nothing to do with virtual memory. My guess is that most IT personnel will not tweak virtual memory settings and will gladly allow Windows to manage it. However, since you are getting "out of memory" errors you might want to talk to your IT department about it.
