This is my latest work. It was done for the August competition that's currently going on over at the Gnomon Workshop forums.

As usual:

Modeled in 3ds Max

Rendered with Mental Ray

Post work in Photoshop

Thanks guys. I'll find out the results of the competition in a couple weeks. First prize is 25 training DVD's, and at $60 per DVD, that's $1500 worth of training material. I hope I win. :D

and you need training for......? 8)

 they have training DVD's for things other than 3D modeling, like digital sculpting with ZBrush and digital painting in Photoshop and Corel Painter. Those are the DVD's that I'm interested in.

Wow, I'd swear that was a photo if I didn't know better. Awsome.

Wait, I should not have compared your rendering with a lowly photo. It looks more like I am peering through an open window.;)

The results are in. I got 2nd place. :)

Hard to believe you didn't win it, as great as your rendering was,

I think they should recount the ballots!

Still, congratulations, second is a lot better than

a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Might the winning entry have been characterized

by prurient subject matter?

Plus one. Whatever won must have had a thong in it.

No thongs or prurient subject matter, just an equally good render. But, there can only be one winner so I guess I'll just have to put in a little extra effort next time. Maybe a little prurient subject matter in my render might push it over the top?

Perhaps a classic old world beauty in residence, laughing,

while sharing a risque joke with a neighbor from the balcony?
