Angry I wanna give this membrane a thickness!

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    Hello!

I have a 3D geometry in .dwg format ... it is a part of an umbrella membrane structure (see the attached pic.)

This geometry is divided into litte pieces. Each piece is a '3D surface' object

I need to give this umbrella a thickness!

I tried Extrude command; Error! the surface object should be planner
I tried surface offset command as explained here
    http://autocadinsider.autodesk.com/m...ocad-2011.html

did not work cuz my object is not a planner surface nor a extruded surface

    so... what to do experts?!

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Surface before using THICKEN command on left. After using THICKEN command on right (now it is a solid).

What I meant by perfectttttt is that I liked your photo

    I tried it now

It worked with a LOFTED Surface (that you can create with LOFT command)

Unfortunatly, Did not work with my surfaces they are of type 3D surfaces

Thanks for your tip anyway ... waiting for more

The surface I used in the example was a simple flat one. I'll take a look at your part.dwg when I get a chance.
