I wanna give this membrane a thickness!

You didn't indicate desired Thickness which side (or midplane) for the thickness.

See attached (use ACISIN to import back into AutoCAD).

I used Autodesk Inventor to do the job.

We'll assume you mean "purchase" unless you are a student of course. They can download Inventor as well as many other programs from the AutoDesk website for free.

Yes I am a student. I will try to download a student version for free or ask my supervisor to get a license.

Students can get Inventor for free from http://www.autodesk.com but per the license agreement you cannot use it for commercial purposes, only for student learing.

If you only need it for this one job - install it as 30-day trial. After you finish you could activate the 3-yr student license if desired.

AutoCAD can always do it!

1-3D Modeling workspace --> Mesh--> Convert to Surface

2-3D Modeling workspace --> Surface --> Offset

right click -->Solid

Done!

Try this:

1. Do a UNION to make all the surfaces into one,

2. THICKEN

Did not work.

Maybe it can work but after executing "convert to surface" command.
