chrisR
I'm trying to import and autocad lite 2010 drawing into Sketchup 8 (using a MAC) - I've saved the drawing onto one layer and purged it. When I go to the import command in Sketchup the menu box opens but the autocad files are greyed out and there is no option under the format box to pick Autocad files - the options are all bitmap, jpeg, pdf etc Can anyone help me out. Cheers Chris
ReMark
Are you using SketchUp Pro? If not then you can't bring your DWG file into the program.
f700es
Remark is correct, with SU8 you have to have the Pro version to import/export DWG files. Now there are ways around this. You can still download SU7 Pro which you can install along side SU8 and use it for the 8hr demo period to import DWG files and then open this new SU in version 8 to work in. After the 8 hr demo is up v7 will revert back to the free version and then you can install the DWG import utility for SU7 to continue importing DWG files. Here is the link for the older version 7 of SU - http://dl.google.com/sketchup/gsu7/PW-2-1-6860-EN.exe Here is the link for the DWG import plugin for V7 - http://dl.google.com/sketchup/gsu7/AllowDWGImportInSketchUp7.msi Both are still offered by Trimble/Google so use it while it is available.
