Try PURGE and if the BLOCK isn't actually in the drawing, it will be deleted.

Hello all,
I am currently making a template in CAD LT 2013. There is a block in my drawing called "test arrow". I did not create this block and have no idea how it got in my drawing. I am running into issues trying to delete it. I cannot locate it anywhere in my drawing.
I tried the QSELECT command and searched for the block itself and came up with nothing in the entire drawing. I then created a new layer that nothing else was on, opened BEDIT, selected the block and moved it to the new layer. I tried QSELECT again this time looking for the new layer. I got nothing in the entire drawing. I then deleted the new layer but still find the block in insert window.
I cannot find this block anywhere. I can't get the block to exlpode so I can purge it from the drawing. Anyone have any ideas how I can get rid of this thing? It is becoming the bane of my existance lol.

When I type in the "PURGE" command, the purge window pops up but there is no drop down indicator next to the Blocks section for me to purge the block. That is the only way I know how to purge blocks. Is there another way?
PURGE *Enter* (Dialog box opens)
Make sure the "Confirm each item to be purged" box is checked
*Click* Purge All (at the bottom of the dialog box)
The dialog box shows all the items (+ signs) that can be purged.
If you only want to PURGE the blocks, then highlight Blocks and hit PURGE at the bottom of the dialog box.

I followed your directions and it still does not give me the option to purge the "test arrow" block. In the 'PURGE" command window, if I hit the option "View items you cannot purge", it gives me the + sign next to blocks so I can expand it. Once I expand it, I can see the test arrow block I want to delete from my drawing. Once I highlight it, the dialogue box says, "This block definition cannot be purged if: -It is nested inside another block. -It is inserted in the drawing. -It is an attached xref drawing.
I have never created this block so it can't be nested in another block. I can't find it in the drawing with QSELECT or FIND commands so I don't think it is inserted into the drawing. I checked my xref manager and have nothing there so it isn't exrefed in. I really appreciate your help, if there is anything else you can think of I'm all ears.
When all else fails, ZOOM EXTENTS and do the following:
Erase *Enter*
All *Enter*
*Enter*
This will ERASE ALL entities in your drawing, even the ones you can't see. After doing this, run the PURGE command again and PURGE the Blocks from your drawing.

Did this work or are you still experiencing problems?

Post a copy of the drawing so we can have a go at it ourselves.

Set layer 0 current. Redefine the block as anything, a line, a circle, a point. Try to purge it again.

Assuming it is not nested in another block. (I would double check that if I were you.) If it won't purge, it is in your drawing. There might not be any objects in the block which would make it hard to select. Zoom Extents, select all using Ctrl+A, Deselect everything visible by using a crossing window. Open you properties box (Ctrl+1) and see of anything is still selected and report back your results. Posting the drawing would speed things up. Someone here will find that block.
