The only thing I can think about that is that you must be trying to inset by too large an amount. If it works ok with larger objects, why don't you create the object at 2x the size and then scale it down when you're done?

Hello, I've created a .5cm radius x 12cm height cylinder that I want to hollow out via extrude (to create a syringe body). To do this the cylinder is created with above dimensions and 12 side. An inset by polygon followed by an extrude by polygon doesn't seem to work. The attached picture shows what's going on?? Any clues. It doesn't seem to be a problem with larger diameter cylinders.

It looks like a bug, the most convenient workaround is to turn wire frame off. Thanks for your help.
