Not going into polyline

:unsure:Doing a complicated shape out of line's and arc's in 3D. Then tried to turn them into a polyline some parts joined and some didn't. I can't see a gap's were one line hasn't touch the other. All look on the same plane. What am I doing wrong? I'm using autoCAD 2012. Thank in advance.

You don't have to join them necessarily. Use the PRESS/PULL command to turn these 2D objects into 3D models.

Post a copy of what you have so far. Someone here will take a look at it.

I don't know what you originally did, but I exploded it, did Join and it all joined into a polyline.

Edit:

Did a bit more experimenting with this?

What did you do?

Why the lightweight polylines?

Do a list on the objects.

I don't know what you were doing, but start over using just lines, arcs and osnaps.

From my experience, it is important to keep an eye on what your UCS is doing. If you are trying to join a polyline that lies in the , say....X-Z plane, it won't do it. I swap my UCS around to make sure I am working in the X-Y plane, at least for the pedit command. I also find that if an entity was created in a different plane than you are working in, it will not necessarily add to the polyline. I am sure there are "cooler" ways to do it, but I use this everyday and it works for me.

Thanks guy's. I think that could be it and I'm sure that is were I when wrong. I'm sure woking in the X-Y plane is the way to go. The mystery is and the part I can't figure out is why the line's were still broken and it was wasn't in a polyline, but it still Extrude and that is before I read the thread by PGuatney. I hope you can tell me what happen? Thanks to you all....
