Kev
We are having a problem here at the office with a .dwg file that contains multiple Xrefs and was created in AutoCAD 2005lt. When opening the file in AutoCAD 2013 it takes about 20 minutes to load and open but all other users with 2005lt have no problem opening and loading the file in a matter of seconds. After detaching the xrefs from the file the AutoCAD 2013 user has no problem opening the file. Any thoughts to why this may be? Can this be fixed? RobDraw
There is no simple answer to this. I believe that 2013 has yet to get a service pack that works. It could be a bug. Also, the new versions get more in depth in the way they analyze files. One thing that is definite is that the issue stems from one or more of the XREFs. Make sure your XREFs are error free and "cleaned up" as much as possible. Maybe you don't have the proper object enablers for 2013. Without in depth analysis and some experimenting there really is no way to know exactly what is wrong.
