KarolR
I exported a 3D solid part from inventor 2013 as a DWG file and opened it. The solid is 3 dimensional, how can i explode it and take, for example, only one face of it?
Dadgad
You should take a look at the SOLID EDITING toolbar, as there are plenty of available viable options beside exploding it. Turn on your TOOLTIPS, so that as you hover over each of the icons you will get a description of what each does. Most of the tools you will see there are variations of the SOLIDEDIT command. Alzer
Just to add onto dagdads tips. Also have a look at the filter options for selecting subobjects. It is possible to select a particular face of a 3D solid. Its also possible to select particular edges or vertices of solids. In your case selecting a face is what your after There is an option to extract faces, copy faces etc... If what your trying to do is copy a face then this should suffice
