Hi Everyone,

I am looking for an easy to use workflow solution for marking up drawings on a wacom tablet display - freehand with a wacom pen. I want to make handwritten notes just like I would on paper- all in digital format.

I have tried Autodesk design review but it has been clunky so far and I just cant get it to work properly- It just doesnt render handwriting very well unless im missing something

I have tried Adobe Acrobat Pro and it also is just clunky and doesn't seem optimized for freehand mark ups

right now I am using Autodesk sketchbook pro to mark up sheets- which works great but is not compatible with PDF so Everything has to be converted to JPG then back to pdf whn im done- thats a time waster.

Im gonna check out Bluebeam but would love an opensource solution- any thoughts??

I've wanted to try this approach a few years back with my boss at the time who was very interested in this. You've already tried all the programs I would. Since I never got a chance to see this unfold I can't help you, but I can give you a second opinion in that you've tried exactly the route I would have - to the "T".

Bluebeam has a trial IIRC so give it a shot. Wouldn't hurt. I've heard good things about it so it might finally be what you're after. I'm curious as to why Design Review wasn't a hit? I figured as long as the settings on the Wacom tablet were in place then it would be a sure shot. Since Design Review has freestyle pen/brush capabilities I thought it would do just fine, since it works great with applications like Photoshop & Corel Paint.

I'm curious, have you tried it out on any other software that is known to accept Wacom tablet input devices, just to see if maybe there's settings that can be tweaked so the transition to an app like Design Review could be troubleshooted?
