At college I use toi use AutoCAD 2000, on this version I could fix my cursor so it would only go on fixed points/the corner of each square, so every time i drew a line it would be perfectly straight, i just had to enter the length value.

I currently now use AutoCAD 2012 and the layout etc has vastly changed since me using 2000!

If I recall correctly, do I have to turn OSNAP on to fix the cursor to the squares?

If your failing to understand what i mean.....The cursor would not be able to go inside a box but could only fix itself on the corners of any box.....

Can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance

You don't need to use GRID and SNAP to draw perfectly straight lines. Toggle ORTHOMODE on. It's the F8 key. Another option is to use AutoCAD's tracking feature.
