how to start drawing a line offset a specific distance from an object or intersection

how do I start drawing a line offset a specific distance from an object or intersection in Architectural AC 2012. In an earlier version there was an icon on the top left of the left-hand vertical tool bar in the default layout.

I am not familiar with AutoCad Architecture so I have to ask... Does it have something like the vanilla AutoCad Object snap tracking? If so, turn that feature on. Then you will be able to hover over your base point (it has to be a snap point) and drag the mouse away from that point a little until you see the tracking vector appear, manipulate it into the direction you desire, then type in the units you wish the starting point to be offset from your base point.

From Point Osnap icon is probably what it is. Same thing as your suggestion but a different tool, technically.
