Leader for Point text

Autocad 2004
in the tutor I got to where I put a point on an existing house drawing. The text with it is on the lines of the house. Very unpleasant. Can I move the text without moving the point or the house?

in the tutor I got to where I put a point on an existing house drawing. The text with it is on the lines of the house. Very unpleasant. Can I move the text without moving the point or the house?

Go to format.

Click on dimension style.

Click on modify.

(Load of options. The one you want is text. Click on that.)

Now play around with where you want the text to appear. There should be a preview box. As you alter, so that will change and that is how it will appear.
