RobDraw
BIGAL, as far as I know, both ways of COPY/PASTE do the same exact thing. Do you know of a difference? Bara, what happens if you make a block out of the objects and use the INSERT command?

abhalkip
Open dwg1,minimize window open dwg2, right click copy, highlight all what you want to copy and left click. open dwg1 window, right click, copy and paste to original cordinates. Thats all, you try it now.
RobDraw
Having the "paste to original..." greyed out is usually because there is something in the selection set that has been improperly converted from a different version of AC or from different software. Sometimes it can happen in paperspace if you do not "copy with base point."
