Desc4 in Icon manager not syncing?

Hi I have created a parent and child of a custom icon for work and in the required fields it has the usual tag1 for parent and tag2 for child and then desc1 desc2 desc3 which when i fill in for parent it synces this info to the child my problem is i want to add a desc4 and desc5 but when i add them to the icon the child wont update the info i put into desc4 and desc5 in the parent icon

 

does anyone know how to get round this?

Sorry but it can't be done as far as I know.

You are limited by maximum of three DESC fields. I had the same problem when I first created my own symbols and had to scrap them as I used DESC4, 5, 6, etc and they would not update between child and parent. The export to spreadsheet function also does not allow you to use more then three DESC fields (unless its a PLC component).

 

Good news There is a work around though!

You can use the 12 Rating fields (Rating1 up to Rating 12). I typically use the first 4 ratings as "RATINGS" and 5 to 12 as extra Description fields.
