hi,

when i go to the open file menu in autocad 2012, and i click on the dwg file, there is a thumbnail picture in the small preview area, but when i click open, it brings up the error message : invalid file name.

i have searched this from and i have tried recovery, importing it to another program, inserting it to new dwg, all with no avail !

so i attached the file, maybe some one could help me. thank you.

Here it is : bath02.dwg

I tried with AutoCAD and with DraftSight and neither were successful. If you had a drawing at one time it's no longer the case. Delete the file from your hard drive and start over.

Was there a BAK file made at any point?

yup, there is actually one, I renamed the .bak to .dwg and opened it, but it was empty, though the file size was 150 kb !
