trussman
OK I think I need to use the UCS for this next step. I will try to explain what I am wanting and upload a part file for you or someone to try and figure out what I need to do here I am wanting to draw a line from one surface to another surface to connect 2 different other lines together and constrain. Here is the file and in the part are 2 work points I have placed on the 2 different planes one of the planes is a work plane I added to the end of the extrusion where I want to connect a line from one to the other. Can this be done I am sure it can as I have discovered that inventor is a very powerful tool to use. Part2.ipt
JD Mather
Here is the file and in the part are 2 work points... Workpoints have very specific meaning in Inventor and I don't see any Work Points in your part. I suspect you mean sketch points. There are two ways to do this. 1. Start a 3D sketch (tool is in dropdown under the 2D sketch on ribbon) and connect the points with line. (don't need to Project Geometry) or 2. Create a workplane (using geometric principles like 3 points or whatever) going through the 2 points and then start sketch on plane and Project Geometry. see attached Part2_jd.ipt
