random pc3 file changing to random plotter

I'm having some problems with our office plotter setups. For some reason the saved .PC3 files randomly switch their "plotter" value.

Let's say I have 3 pc3 files shared on a network drive. call them Laser, Plotter, & PDF. A couple of times a month I'll find one of the PC# files has switched to a different printer. I'll go to print to PDF & the drawing will come spilling out of my full sized Plotter.

I cant find any way to intentionally change the target printer of a PC3 from within AutoCAD So I'm fairly sure that it's not a user overwriting the file.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Right now I have a copy of the PC3 files stored locally that I can restore from but I'm getting tired of playing musical printers.
