this is my first experience with autoCAD2002. Previously all my experience comes from Solidworks. How do i do a detailed view of a 3d solid. Detailed as in a semi circle is drawn around the object and is given letters that corespond with a zoomed in view.
I have heared it being called a "Call out" also
Thanks

damn autoCAD is horrible
not really... AutoCAD is excellent depending on the application. for 2D - it's the best there is in my opinion.Originally Posted by clappr
what you could do, is import the solidworks file into AutoCAD. if it doesn't import directly, find a conversion tool. then use the SLICE command to take out your section, and use the FLATTEN command to convert it to 2D, or use a LISP routine if the FLATTEN command isn't in 2002.
at least that's the best way i can think off the top of my head, but i've never messed with solid works so i dunno. maybe someone else could help ya.![]()

As Hendie says, set up a new layout. Insert a new viewport, then zoom in around the part you require.
