section plane

Hi guys,

is there any way to make a vertical or horizontal section plane of 3d solid leaving the rest of it like a solid?

Often I need to do pretty much complex view in which the same solid should be sectioned for half part of it and be solid for the rest.

It is a common way to present solid draw but I can't do it with autocad 2013.

Can some of you show me any reasonable workaround, thank to all.

Stefano

P.S.

have a look to the attached image

From the sound of things, you should LOVE the VIEWBASE functionality which has been around for a while in Inventor,

but was introduced to Autocad in 2012, and enhanced in 2013.

It will very quickly (like instantaneously) generate all of the standard viewing perspectives,

as well as enable you to generate sections and details from those. The section line can be jogged, so it sounds like you need to play around with this

and learn how to drive it.

Hi guys, first off thanks to both of you for the reply :)

@Dadgad

I use VIEWBASE command in the most of cases anyway I can't generate any mixed view made of 2d section and 3d solid. At least as far as I now.

@ReMark

May be I just need to play around the SECTIONPLANE command and later than create a view port of it or a VIEWBASE of it

I'll give a try...thanks a lot for the moment
