ReMark
So where do we stand at the moment?
erockxp
I am too bogged down with work to try an uninstall and reinstall so I will have to wait. Thanks for all of your help. I will post up after I try to reinstall.
ReMark
Suit yourself. I suppose doing nothing and just hobbling along is a choice as well. An expensive and frustrating choice but one none-the-less. Good luck.
erockxp
Haha. I meant waiting until tomorrow...or later today.
erockxp
Well I tried reinstalling AutoCAD (thanks for the motivation ReMark) and applying update 2 first thing. AutoCAD continues to crash when I try to open drawing files. Any ideas?
ReMark
Perhaps AutoCAD doesn't like your hardware setup for some reason.
paisis123
Could it be the OP is running out of memory? He only has 3 GB of RAM
erockxp
I hope that is not the issue. I tried a driver update last week and it is crashing less but will still not install the update.
paisis123
Mmm, something is definitely wrong when it will not let you install, at this point, a required update. But to my experience the more RAM, the better, especially when you can get upwards of 8 GB of RAM for cheap.
ReMark
Is this a legal copy of AutoCAD?
erockxp
Maybe more ram is the answer and yes it is a legal copy.
paisis123
Yes, more RAM is nice. But what you are experiencing is a software issue not a hardware related one.
