woodyken
Is it possible to make a solid (that i can slice in autocad) from a *.skp ( 3d) file from sketchup. Can anyone tell me how to do this ? Thanks in advance Edited May 18, 2013 by woodyken
pqphillips
If you have Sketchup installed (it's a free program), you can export to .dwg format. If you don't have Sketchup and don't want it, then given that you are using 2010, SKP Import for AutoCAD will probably work, though you may have to convert it to a 3D Solid afterwards, as it only converts to points, lines, polylines, 3D faces, or polyface meshes. woodyken
I have sketup 8 pro on my computer and can export the skp file to a dwg drawing. But this is not a solid and i do not know how to covert it. I tryed with the command "convtosurface" but it didn't work.
SLW210
Search around on here for some tips on converting them in AutoCAD. Start with the similar threads at the bottom of this thread. It is usually hit or miss depending on the acurracy of the .skp.
