dashed lines/plot scale

i was trying to make hidden line, i changed the line type to dashed hoping it would appear - - - - - in my drawing but it still appeared ______________

then for the plotting i was trying to plot my drawing in LAYOUT 2.. i used ZOOM then scale and used 1/300xp. i was aiming for 1:300 scale but it always appears bigger than expected and it wont fit in the paper.. i tried drawing it manually in piece of paper and it fits, but it cad it wont.. do help me plss:cry:

if you havetrouble finding the correctscale, a method i sometimes use is draw a line in paperspace at a linetype scale of 1. will hopefully show correct. then change space it to model space, check the LTscale and modify any other lines pastor future to the same.

sometimes you need to regen afterchanging an object's linetype scale to getit to show properly atthe new scale.
