Default ...trim out a smaller viewport from inside a big viewport???

    Gang-

    Long time no post... sorry.

    Got a question:
I am trying to place a smaller vp in the top corner of a bigger vp so that i can show *where* on the floorplan that the cabinet (...that I am showing in the bigger vp as an elevation...) is.

I am using AutoCAD 2004, (ugh!) and have tried to use the "Clip Existing Viewport" command... and a bunch of others.... one way was to select the smaller vp, select "Display viewports oblects" to "no" then back to "yes" and then i was able to get back into the smaller vp's model space... but s soon as i select the big vp, i cannot get back into the small vp unless i do the above... (maybe i should write a lisp to do that?)

We have an extensive number of viewports to adjust in this way (more than 100 i think...)

Looking forward to your inputs! Thanks....

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

You can hold down the Ctrl key and hit R to toggle between your large and small viewports. Just double click inside the large viewport to activate model space, then Ctrl+R to switch to the small one.

Did that (I should have mentioned it... I was in a rush to get to a staff meeting, so I didn't get to...)

That's probably what we'll have to do... just zoom in close so that a few number of vp's are showing and ctrl+R away....

    TYTY Cad64!
