Your Help file will not only define an ordinate dimension it will also show you how to create them. Look at the topic "Create Ordinate Dimensions." SuperCAD Posted July 20, 2013 Share Posted July 20, 2013 If it's for SolidWorks, ordinate dimensions are a fantastic way to show the dimensions that locate things like holes in parts. You pick a point/edge that will define your origin (or your zero point) and then each feature you click on after that will show the vertical or horizontal distance from that point. This greatly reduces the effects of tolerance stacking to better control the overall size of the part and the location of the features. If it's for AutoCAD, you better make sure that your origin is the 0,0,0 point in modelspace, otherwise the ordinate dimensions are absolutely worthless. I don't know if they've fixed this in the newer releases but I just tried it in 2010 and it doesn't work like it should. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
